Programs

The Amesbury Cultural Council sponsors several core programs to support artists, writers, and performers:

>Our annual grant program allows us to distribute funds from the Massachusetts Cultural Council to local individuals, groups, and organizations for cultural projects. This includes programs in the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences.

>In 2015 we launched the Amesbury Poet Laureate program. The Poet Laureate is a two-year post intended to celebrate Amesbury's rich literary community, past and present. The role of the Poet Laureate is to enhance the cultural and economic vitality of Amesbury through poetry.

>Throughout the year, the Art@City Hall program showcases the work of talented local artists in the front lobby of Amesbury City Hall at 62 Friend Street. Professional, non-professional, amateur, and aspiring creators of all ages from Amesbury and surrounding communities are welcome to apply. That's right—exhibitors are not required to be Amesbury residents!
